The Role
The Account Manager will lead commercial engagement across a portfolio of customers, ensuring high service performance and identifying opportunities to deploy TechPoint’s Supply Chain Solutions — from full SCSaaS programmes to tactical cost and availability improvements. This role plays a key part in supporting customers to reduce total cost of ownership, eliminate supply risk, and accelerate time to market.
Key Responsibilities
1. Account Management & Service Excellence
- Act as the primary customer interface, building trusted, long-term relationships at operational and strategic levels.
- Understand decision drivers, commercial expectations, and technical requirements to ensure value-aligned solutions.
- Lead regular relationship reviews, performance updates, and continuous improvement activities.
2. Growth & Solution Deployment
- Identify opportunities to introduce solutions such as VMI, JIT, Kanban, buffer stock programmes and electronic commodity lifecycle management.
- Develop account growth plans and work with the commercial and operational teams to execute expansion strategies.
- Manage proposals, pricing, renewals and contractual discussions to grow revenue and profitability.
3. Supply Chain & Programme Management
- Coordinate with internal procurement, planning, engineering, and production teams to support service delivery and performance.
- Monitor fulfilment, lead time, and inventory performance with proactive issue resolution.
- Provide data-driven insights to customers on risks, obsolescence, demand profile changes, and cost-down opportunities.
4. Market & Commodity Intelligence
- Track market conditions, pricing trends, and component lifecycle changes to inform strategic decision-making.
- Represent TechPoint at customer and industry events to increase visibility and build networks.
5. Reporting & Forecasting
- Maintain CRM accuracy including pipelines, service performance and commercial updates.
- Deliver regular forecasts and business reviews to senior management.
About you
Key Skills & Experience Required
- Experience within Electronics Supply Chain Solutions, EMS, Distribution, or a complementary sector.
- Demonstrable account management capability with a track record of delivering growth and customer value.
- Knowledge of supply chain methodologies such as VMI, Kanban, JIT, consignment models, or buffer stock management.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with both technical and commercial audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Skilled in negotiation, data interpretation and commercial decision-making.
- Proficiency with CRM tools and Microsoft Office.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites within the UK.
Desirable
- Understanding of electronic components, PCBA assembly, and lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting OEMs or Tier 1 environments.
